Gwen, an anxious polar bear, wakes up on a broken icecap hundreds of miles away from her family. On her perilous journey through the arctic sea, she will have to find her courage, as well as her way home. Following a succsesful grant application from ACW, the show is available for booking in Spring 2026.
Performer Name: Christopher Harris
Chris is a writer, translator and director. He is the recipient of The Richard Carne Playwriting Award. He has a BA from Aberystwyth University, an MA from the University of Amsterdam, and he trained as a playwright with the Sherman Theatre Playwriting Group, 2016 - 2018. His plays include: 'Cariad yn Oes y Gin' (Theatr Bara Caws), 'Golygfeydd o'r Pla Du' (Theatrau Sir Gar), 'Gwlad! Gwlad! (Awen Cultural Trust) and 'Gwen yr Arth Wen' (Blackwood Miners Institute). He is currently developing: 'Y Boi Madfall' (Theatr Iolo), 'Trwbl Mawr yn Tremyglyd' and 'Gomorrah' (Peggy Ramsay Foundation Grant). He has also translated for Theatr Iolo’s Playhouse scheme and written Sibrwd scripts for Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru on over 12 productions. He also writes for radio: 'Gwen yr Arth Wen' (BBC Radio Cymru), ‘Tic Toc’ (Boom Cymru/BBC Sounds), 'The Atlantis Project' (AM/Sir Gar/Open Drama UK). His first film 'Milodfa' was produced by S4C, BBC Wales and 'It's My Shout' will be broadcast on S4C and BBC iPlayer in November 2024. He sits on the Board of Theatr Bara Caws, the Advisory Board of the Aberystwyth Arts Centre and is a member of TYA Cymru. Chris is represented by Louisa at LJP Management.
