Promoter Information
'Promoters' are the community groups that use the Night Out scheme to put on a professional show in their local area.

The Arts Council of Wales' Night Out scheme is open to volunteer and community groups around Wales. Night Out takes away the headache of financial risk. We pay the performer fee and the promoter pays back any ticket income made at the door.
Performances cover many art forms, from theatre and circus to puppetry, music of all kinds, dance, circus and storytelling. We offer advice and ideas of artists you can book, with shows suited to small-scale community halls, but promoters are also welcome to book artists not listed on our website. We do not support tribute bands, choirs or pantomimes. Literature events may be funded by Literature Wales
"We have recently reopened a community centre in the Upper Rhymney Valley and when this was first suggested to us, we took time to read through the leaflet and discuss as a committee but thought this wasn't for our community. How wrong we were, we decided to try this show on a last minute cancellation and it was one of the best opportunities we have taken, these evenings bring the community together, they are very professional and entertain all ages. This event has given us a social platform from many families expressing how much they enjoyed the show and promoted our setting hugely throughout the area. Thank you for the opportunity."
"The committee of our village hall has a wonderful momentum at the moment, we are willing to try new things, programming a wide range of events and happenings in the hall. We really want to grow our audience within and beyond our village. It was amazing to see a good portion of the audience that had never visited the hall before! While the will is there to invite events such as Y Dewis, we never would have been able to take the financial risk to book it independently, the cash is simply not there. With the Night Out scheme we were able to book and promote the event, gather a new and wider audience and host a really professional very different event at the hall with great success!"
To apply to the scheme, you need to Register your Promoter Organisation with us. Once registered, you can add or link to your community venue and submit an online application to us.
If you indicate you're happy to receive correspondence from us when you sign up, we can let you know about our online promoter Zoom meetings. These sessions offer the ideal opportunity to speak to us, share information with other promoters and hear from performers who will be touring their shows.
Find a performer, check they are suitable, what they cost and can fit your performance space. Pencil in a date then apply through your promoter portal. We will normally be able to let you know within a couple of weeks if we can support the event. Once support is agreed, you can promote and put on the event, then report to us afterwards. We pay the performer and will invoice you for any money owed back to the scheme.
