My name is Fifi la Mer, I am a Parisian singer/ accordionist and with Oliver Wilby who plays the clarinet and tenor saxophone we have put a show together about the golden era of French music -1880/1970. “Shut your eyes and you will be transported to Paris where you will hear a selection of French music including works from Edith Piaf, Charles Trennet, Django Reinhardt and Serge Gainsbourg. Along the way you will hear tales of life in Paris throughout the golden era of French music. You will listen to a slice of the French repertoire spanning a century; a performance of their unique arrangements.. Brace yourself for an exiting and charismatic performance” Fifi and Oliver have been touring the country and Scotland with their unique show performing it around 90 times so far. You may have seen them with their quintet “Oh la la” . They have recently appeared with their sell-out show at Ronnie Scott’s, Theatres and Arts centres across the country. Oliver regularly performs with the Pasadena roof orchestra, Syd Lawrence Orchestra Ray Gelato, and the BBC big band. Our show isn’t ideal for deaf people as the music, anecdotes and jokes are a big part of our show but we have in the past performed a relaxed version of our show in centers for people with learning difficulties or people in retirement homes.
We are self contained
We would need an electrical socket . We provide a sound system with all we need for the performance. We can perform on the floor but a stage is always nice if there is one at the venue. The space we need is 2 meters by 2 meters by 2 meters .
