Performer Name: David Eagle

Show Name: David Eagle Flying Solo

Show Description

Songs, stories and stand up from multi-award winning comedian and folk singer, David Eagle. David is blind, and his comedy often explores how his disability means the most ordinary, commonplace events are turned into surreal and convoluted dramas: accosted by faith healers, bamboozling aggressive Australians and escaping arrest after a nocturnal accordion-based anti-social incident. Occasionally he dons his accordion (often as a spiteful repost to hecklers) and performs one of his songs, one of which was described by the Guardian as “a comic tour de force.” You may have seen David on stage with the folk band The Young’uns, three-time winners at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. You may have seen him on Rosie Jones’s TV show. You may have heard his stand up on BBC Radio 4, including multiple appearances on The Now Show. His debut Edinburgh Fringe Show won multiple awards including 2024’s Spirit Of The fringe, previously won by comedians Stewart Lee, Ross Noble, Adam Hills, Flight Of The Conchords and League Of Gentlemen. Let’s be honest, you’re running out of excuses not to come. "David is brilliantly clever, musical, moral. Brilliant/nuts Heartily recommend!" (Rufus Hound) “My God, David Eagle makes me laugh. A ludicrously amusing gentlemen” (Miles Jupp) “David's an unique and very funny comedian. Highly recommended.” (Paul Sinha) “just seen the future of stand up comedy and his name is David Eagle” (Boothby Graffoe)

Just basic light on stage.
Tech requirements are dependant on venue, for smaller spaces I can do everything without amplification, otherwise basic vocal mic on stage setup with the option to use my wireless accordion mic set up, which requires two xlr inputs into a desk. Performance ares needed: enough to fit a man and his accordion, and I'm quite thin and light, if that helps.
Happy to discuss when booking
