Performer Name: Coed Celyn Productions
Show Name: Sherlock and The Man who Believed in Fairies
Show Description
Played by a cast of four, with a minimal set, this show was a great success at the 2024 Edinburgh Fringe. It attracted 700 theatre-goers and was hugely popular being a brand new case for the world's most famous consulting detective, Sherlock Holmes. Whenever Arthur Conan Doyle goes to the press with his stories of spiritualism or fairies, the deeply rational Sherlock Holmes is irked that his name gets dragged into these articles. In revenge, Holmes sets about discrediting the Cottingley fairy photographs – the sensational fairy images created by two little girls, and a cause dear to Doyle’s heart. In doing so Holmes uncovers layers of half-truths and mysteries. Inevitably, the two men come face to face in this story of unwavering faith versus cool logic.
