Show Name: The Golden Age of Melody

Show Description

The Golden Age of Melody is an uplifting, audience-friendly celebration of the Great American Songbook (1920s–30s), performed by Vintage By The Wye: vocalist Janice Day and pianist Martin Litton. Our performances blend timeless songs with storytelling, humour and world-class early jazz piano — creating a warm, nostalgic atmosphere that audiences really connect with.

We are self-contained for sound but do not currently bring lighting. We can perform using the venue’s existing house lights or any simple stage lighting available. If required, we can discuss the option of bringing a small portable spotlight to enhance the performance area.
We are a self-contained duo (vocal and piano). We bring our own compact PA system and stage keyboard (if no piano is available). The performance requires a minimum area of approximately 3m x 2m for the performers plus safe access to a standard 13A power supply. We request 1 hour 30 minutes for get-in and sound check before the audience arrives, and approximately 1 hour for get-out after the performance. The setup is simple and suitable for small to mid-sized community halls. We can adapt to most venue layouts and are happy to discuss details with each promoter in advance.
Yes. We provide high-quality digital marketing materials — flyers, posters, images and social media posts — to make local promotion simple. We can also post a small quantity of printed posters to the promoter on request.
