Sarah Davenport is an accomplished and versatile vocalist with roots in classical music, performing across Latin jazz, soul/funk, Afro-jazz and big band genres. Classically trained as an instrumentalist, she developed a deep understanding of musical technique and performance, which later evolved into a rich and expressive vocal style. A key influence in her vocal journey was the legendary Pinise Saul - renowned South African jazz singer and Director of the South African Gospel Singers - who helped shape her approach to singing stories with soul, authenticity and emotional depth. Now based in west Wales, Sarah performs regularly with her Latin jazz band Trwbadwr, with her 'Joni’s Jazz’ ensemble, and also as a guest vocalist with other jazz combos, delivering memorable performances that resonate with diverse audiences.
