This is a solo singer-songwriter act, with a folky feel. It is aimed at an audience who are prepared to sit and listen to stories, rather than one who want to dance and sing along to well known pop/rock songs. Having said that, most of the songs are lively and up-tempo. A few are humorous, and the show is punctuated by one or two slower, thoughtful songs. I am fluent in Welsh and have one or two songs in Welsh, but most of the material is in English as I am more comfortable writing in English.
Minimum performance space required is 2m x 2m with a height of at least 170cm.
Staging is not provided as standard, but can be arranged if needed.
PA and lighting can be provided if needed.
A single 13A mains socket is required, within 10 meters of the performance space. Get-in time: 1 hour

James Rees is a singer-songwriter from the Swansea Valley. He has been writing and performing songs all his adult life and has also played in a range of folk and rock bands, most recently the exciting "Hearthlight" which also includes his ridiculously talented daughter Mai.
His songs are mostly lively, sometimes humorous, sometimes reflective and thoughtful. The words are important, and the guitar work is folky, bluesy and sometimes downright strange, but fascinating.
