The London Chamber Ensemble Quartet consists of 4 outstanding and experienced British musicians: Madeleine Mitchell & Gordon MacKay violinists, Bridget Carey viola, Jospeh Spooner, cello. It has rapidly gained a reputation through stunning reviews for its album Howells & Wood Quartets (music c1916) - one of Gramophone's recommended recordings 2024 "Perfection" BBC Music Magazine as well a concerts throughout the UK. Madeleine won a Royal Philharmonic Society award to make a short film from the V&A exhibition Fabergé: Romance to Revolution and the concert she curated - see youtube link. As well as Borodin Quartet they offer popular favourites from Haydn and Beethoven, Dvorak, Ravel, Debussy etc to rarities including Tailleferre (1892-1983) and Charles Wood (1866-1926)- romantic music infused with Irish folksong.

Violinist Madeleine Mitchell has performed as soloist and chamber musicians in over 50 countries. Described by The Times as 'one of the UK"s liveliest musical forces (and) foremost violinists', she has been delighting audiences throughout Wales from broadcasts for the BBC as soloist with BBCNOW to recitals in village halls with her engaging spoken introductions.
