Lighthouse creates ambitious, quirky and inventive performances with community at its heart. We tour high quality, entertaining and accessible work throughout Wales, often with a local theme. As well as performing in traditional theatre settings, we are excited by performing in pubs, parlours, the open-air and immersive spaces. In 2011, we performed our first show – a three-person adaptation of Noel Coward's Still Life. In 2024, we were awarded the Arts and Business Cymru, Arts in the Community Award for our work with Cardiff Harbour Authority on The Tides Are A-Changing. This production will help us grow in a number of ways - we are returning to a format that our audiences really appreciate but with a title that atrracts its own considerable support base - it will be a huge challeneg for us but one that we anticipate with relish. We continue to attract an audience with a wide age range nationally but remain firmly rooted in our home base, offering theatre in conventional spaces as well as poetry, plays and fund-raisers in local pubs and community centres and this work continues alongside our raised profile.
