Performer Name: Swingin’ Bill’s Vintage Revue

Show Name: Swingin' Bill's Vintage Revue

Show Description

Swingin' Bill's Vintage Revue are an energetic and highly entertaining musical act from Cardiff, South Wales, who appeal to all ages, covering classics written by the likes of Louis Prima, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Jordan, Jackie Wilson, Nina Simone, Doris Day, Cab Calloway and Ray Charles. During decades in the music business, the band's members have played venues ranging from village halls to stages at all the big festivals, and have both supported and played with a number of big acts. Playing a mixture of jumping jive, western swing, and jazz standards (with dashes of rock ‘n’ roll, ragtime and the odd showtune thrown in to leaven the mix), we're bound to get you smiling, tapping your toes, and singing along. LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL!

This is something we are currently working on.
Self-contained
We usually need about 1 to 1.5 hours to set up, ideally finishing 45-60 minutes before the performance time. As soon as our PA is set up we usually play period-friendly music from the 1920s through to the 1940s in order to help set the atmosphere; if we are playing two sets, we will play similar tunes in between the sets.
We will design and supply posters and flyers for your event.
We're a highly entertaining and unusual five-piece musical act that appeals to all ages. In various combinations our members have played everywhere from small village halls in the wild west of Wales to stages at Cambridge Folk Festival, Bestival, Boomtown and Glastonbury. The music we play is a mixture of jumping jive, rhythm ‘n’ blues, swing, boogie-woogie and jazz (with odd dashes of rock ‘n’ roll and skiffle thrown in to leaven the mix), and we always get our audience singing along and tapping their toes; in fact, our interpretations of the songs of the likes of Louis Prima, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Jordan, Nina Simone and Ray Charles have been known to get more than a few people up and dancing too!
