Katie plays guitar and sings original, gritty songs ranging from dark hillbilly blues to irresistible pop. She sings about love, heartaches and hurricanes and tells stories of life on the road, raising 4 beautiful children, how she ended up in Wales all the way from the streets of New Orleans, and of the unusual, character-filled journey along the way.
Katie began her career in New Orleans, where she played wash tub bass and piano in the streets and clubs of the French Quarter. In 2003 she formed the popular Alt-Country duo, Truckstop Honeymoon, touring internationally in Australia, New Zealand, Europe and the US. She has put out three solo albums (two under the name "40 Watt Dreams") and is currently touring as Katie West. Singing gritty songs that range from dark hillbilly blues to irresistible pop, Katie performs solo, en duo, or with her band.
