Lo-fi Jones are a rising force in Welsh folk. High-energy and unpredictable, this award-winning 4-piece enjoy connecting with audiences through an eclectic, multilingual blend of original songs, infused with surreal humour. Forged in Eryri by brothers Liam and Siôn Rickard, Lo-fi Jones are now based in Machynlleth. Their line-up is completed by Nicaraguan multi-instrumentalist Rolando Bertrand and the versatile 'Badger' Brown. Together, they fuse contemporary and traditional styles, straddling genres , and touching upon a wide range of themes such growing up in rural North Wales, climate change, and faulty toasters. The band’s recent accolades include winning the Traditional Singing category at the Pan-Celtic Festival 2024. They were also shortlisted for Best English Language Folk Song at the Welsh Folk Awards, and were crowned winners of the ‘Battle of the Folk Bands’ at the National Eisteddfod 2023.
