Under the Frozen Moon Half A String Its o cold in Nunavik that the moon has frozen! A greedy dragon has gobbled every fire and every light, leaving only the white glow of the frozen moon. You can't feel your toes, fire freezes in the hearth and it doesn't even snow....but not all the warmth is lost. Under the glittering stars and dazzling aurora, Amka's family huddle together, fishing for eels and knitting plenty of hats. In this heart warming tale, a young girl sets out on a quest to confront the dragon under the ice who has hoarded all of the fires and lights for himself. With lively poetry, transforming sets, atmospheric live music and exciting puppetry; Under the Frozen Moon brings to life a beautiful world of ice and adventure. In Half a String's new winter show for ages 3 and above, Amka's tale is a tender folk story of love, friendship and giving. we see her leave to give the ice dragon the most precious gift she has, a hug. She meets Luna the arctic fox on the way and together they voyage towards the dragon's cave to give him a hug. For the first time in his life the dragon has felt the warmth of another's love and breaks out of the ice to share it with the world, transforming into the sun. Under the Frozen Moon creates it's own original folklore and story to explain the origin of snow and gift giving in winter.
