Show Name: Meirion Williams 50.
This year, it will be 50 years since the death of the composer Meirion Williams (1901-76) . In this show, the musician Sioned Webb will follow his story in the parish of Ardudwy and London, throwing light on some of his works and including some pieces that haven’t seen the light of day for many years. Sioned received an M.A. degree for her academic thesis on Meirion Williams but the show will be lighthearted and will include recordings of his songs.

Sioned Webb is an acclaimed performer here in Wales and Internationally. She’s well known as a pianist and triple harpist and as a composer and music arranger in a variety of genres. She has published volumes of Welsh folk songs notably ‘Hen Garolau Cymru’ and ‘Seiniwn Hosanna’, a collection of Plygain carols.
