Show Name: "Showgirls and Sharks: Not everyones a showgirl but everyone has a story to tell"

Written by and starring Stephanie Gawne (aka FooFoo LaBelle) and Jenna Dyckhoff “Showgirls and Sharks” tells the fascinating story of how a Welsh burlesque legend came to be. This true story follows a fascinating life, telling the tale of fearless showgirl “FooFoo LaBelle”. This madcap musical autobiography recounts moments from a career that starts as a teenage ballet dancer, travels the world and ends up as an icon of the Welsh Burlesque scene. With musical genius Jenna at her side Stephanie reveals the secrets of a globe-trotting showgirl, evoking laughter, tears and a flood of nostalgia. This show can be performed in two 45 minute acts with interval, or we have a 70-minute version. Suitable for a variety of audiences from 16+ As part of our tour offer we are including a workshop “Confidence through Cabaret” for audience members at no extra cost. Depending on the venue’s location, this can take place before the show or the day after, if overnight accommodation is available. Here’s a short review from one of our debut shows at Porters theatre Cardiff. “It’s a wonderful piece of theatrical entertainment. It covers the making of a showgirl in six "simple" steps, telling the story of the multi-talented entertainment powerhouse that is "FooFoo Labelle". There are happy bits, there are sad bits. To most people, the life described takes place in another universe, and it certainly is, but this production just oozes authenticity. The double-act is seamless, with Gawne sharing the tale of her life with Dyckhoff providing the structure, music and cues and banter, keeping FooFoo firmly grounded. Pure entertainment - fascinating, thought provoking, inspiring and funny”. Please email us to request a show venue pack or further information about the workshop.

Performer Name: Dyckhoff and Gawne

Dyckhoff and Gawne is a promising new partnership between creators and performers, Jenna Dyckhoff and Stephanie Gawne. This unique, intergenerational paring, was first brought together at the Wales Millennium Centre in Duncan Hallis's ‘The First XXXMas: A Very Naughtytivity’ where their combined neurodivergence erupted into an eclectic, chaotic, theatre-making duo!
